Stress, Yoga & the Journey Back to Yourself
Teacher: Ellen Engvall
We all know how it feels to be stressed and tense. The mind is racing, shoulders are slumped, the body starts to protest in different ways – and suddenly, we feel disconnected from ourselves. But what’s really happening inside us when we’re stressed? And how does it affect us deeply?
In this workshop, we’ll dive into just that – the body’s stress response, why we sometimes get stuck in a constant “on” mode, and how this impacts our health, well-being, and ability to make good decisions. We’ll blend modern science on the nervous system with the ancient wisdom of yoga – about body, mind, and energy. Together, they offer a powerful understanding of how to create balance and lasting health.
With the help of simple yet effective yoga practices, breathing techniques, and mindfulness, we’ll explore how to calm the nervous system, recover, and reconnect with ourselves on a deeper level. When we learn to listen within and understand our true needs, it becomes easier to take care of ourselves – not just on the mat, but in life as a whole.
Ellen is a certified midwife, nurse, and yoga therapist in MediYoga, as well as a teacher in Yin Yoga, Hatha, and Vinyasa. She inspires people with her passion for health, hormones, and personal growth. As both a midwife and yoga teacher, she guides others toward inner balance and joy through yoga, meditation, and practical knowledge about the body, nutrition, and lifestyle. Ellen is the founder of the HormonyYoga concept and runs her own yoga school, training teachers in Medical Yoga, HormonyYoga, Lymphatic Yoga, and yoga for ME/CFS, burnout, and post-COVID – with over 1,200 trained teachers.
We’ll round off Sunday with Wivi-Anne, who will introduce you to what it truly means to live in balance – through the ancient natural science of Ayurveda. With her deep, holistic wisdom, she’ll share simple, sustainable ways to support your health and bring more harmony and ease into your everyday life.
We’ll start with a short talk and intro to Ayurvedic principles, followed by a grounding yoga class focused on balance and presence. Ayur Yoga helps you recognize when you’re out of balance – and more importantly, how to return to a place of calm and centered energy.
The day ends with a gentle Ayur Yin session, where Ayurvedic knowledge meets slow, meditative movement. You’ll be guided to meet your physical and emotional edges with gratitude and care, and to invite more flow, calm, and freedom into your body, mind, and soul. A beautiful way to reconnect and feel whole again.
“A life in balance is a life free from illness” – the essence of Ayurveda.
Ayurveda teaches us that true health comes from balance – in body, mind, and soul. When this harmony is disturbed, illness appears. This ancient science is based on the natural elements – air, fire, water, and earth – and their unique qualities. We all carry these elements in our personal makeup, which is why we all have different needs.
Imbalance can show up physically, emotionally, or spiritually – or a mix of all three. In this workshop, you’ll learn how to recognize the early signs and how small daily habits can help you restore your balance and feel well again.
Wivi-Anne is a well-known yoga teacher from Helsingborg, Sweden, with nearly 25 years of teaching experience. She’s known for her warm, joyful presence and authentic teaching style. Her deep care for people and their life journey shines through in everything she does.
Her own yoga journey began during a time of stress and physical pain, while working as a CEO. Yoga helped her pause, listen within, and come back to herself – it even helped her heal. That’s when yoga became her life companion and true calling.
She has trained with several teachers in both dynamic and yin yoga, and later expanded her knowledge with studies in Ayurveda, emotional healing, and EFT tapping. Through this, she discovered a more complete way of living and healing. She has trained over 200 yoga teachers in Ayur Yoga and Ayur Yin, with a special focus on women’s health, emotional balance, and living in tune with your natural rhythm.
Priscilla’s workshops are all about bringing yoga into your life – not just on the mat, but as a whole way of being. She’ll invite you to begin your journey with a peaceful pranayama and meditation session by the ocean, soaking in the beauty of the Swedish west coast.
Complete Body/Mind Restoration starts with energizing from the inside out through a strong and intentional Hatha yoga flow – building both strength and focus. After this powerful movement, you’ll completely relax in a 30-minute Yoga Nidra session that restores your energy just like four hours of deep sleep.
The Sauna Ritual with Aromatherapy takes place in an infrared sauna by the sea. Aromatherapy supports deep relaxation, detox, and better breathing – and you’re welcome to take a dip in the cool ocean water afterwards for a refreshing, hormone-balancing effect.
Chakra Awareness will help you connect with your energetic body. You’ll gain insight into how emotions affect you, and learn traditional Hatha techniques that support inner harmony in an easy, accessible way.
